Titanium dioxide no longer considered safe as food additive but used in widely available pregnancy vitamin pills

As of May 2021 the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) does not anymore consider Titanium dioxide (E171) safe when used as a food additive.1 Yet in August 2021 it was still included in Vitabiotics Pregnacare Max as marketed by dominant pharmacy retailer Boots in the UK. If it’s not considered safe, how can it provide ‘maximum’ support? How long will it take them, and other manufacturers, to adapt?
